Is there a word related to feminist men? Check how they are called and who they are!
Hi! It’s hard to deal with abnormal weathers these day, isn’t it? Are you doing well?
So, don’t you wonder if there is a word for male feminist? Today I’m gonna show you a word similar to “feminist” or “feminism”.
I found a website, “feminist.com”, saying there is a global organization of men who support women’s political, social and economic equality. Those men are called “meninist”. The following indicates its beliefs and supports:
・
Oppose to all misogynist
behavior and sexual attitudes, show respect to all women
・
Believe in women’s freedom and
right to self-control their body
・
Oppose all kinds of violence
against women
・
Understand and support women
for women’s movement
・
Believe that women should be
equal to men in working situation
At the bottom of the content, I found them saying, “This MENINIST page first launched in early 2001 and was the original use of the term.”, so this term “meninist” would be first used and created to express the thought I wrote above by feminist.com.
A video talks about meninist says that the term “meninist” was first used on Twitter to mock feminism but later it has been used to express men’s serious difficulties. It also says there are two types of meninist; one is men who claim that they are victims of feminist, and another is men who found that the former men don’t realize the real meaning feminism has.
I also found a Twitter and Facebook account named “MENINIST”. They both re-tweet other’s opinions, or sometimes load pictures and videos.

I thought your blog was very interesting to look at, and it really changed my understanding of feminism. Until now, I never heard of the term "meninist" before. It was a first time for me to know what "meninist" is, and it made me want to look at their social media links to find out more about them. I thought it is very supportive for having those "meninist" to support the women's equality, socially, economically and politically. But I think we need to warn more people to actually change the stereotypical image that we have in both gender. This means that not only men, but also us female has to act or try to understand what kind of difficulties men goes through in their life.
