Searching "Feminism" on Coca Corpus

Hi! I'm gonna tell you the result of searching "feminism" on Coca Corpus.

This is the result when I search for the word “feminism”. From this, I could find that the word is used 3272 times. It is most used in Academic section and it accounts for almost 12 percent. The second is Magazine and it accounts for about 10 percent. On the contrary, the least used section is Fiction and it accounts for about 1.5 percent. The second least is spoken.

When I think for the reason why the word feminism is used in academic, I thought the answer is that it is an academic issue. We know and have heard the word feminism but we don’t really use in ordinary days. And at the time we learn history in school, we may learn some movements for women or the women herself (for example Hiratuka Raichou).  I guess that time the word feminism appears. The reason for magazine may because it has special articles and focus on women. Last year many famous actresses made a movement called “Metoo” and feminism or feminist attracted world attention. Some magazines may followed them and may made an article so the word may have used in magazine a lot.
