Which country has the most equal?
Hi! Today I am going to answer to the Question No.24 "Which country has more equal right for both sex and why".
Q. Which country has more equal right for both sex and why?
A. I would like to answer the top 5 and the reason. (Data is from 2016)
No.1 Iceland
Since 2009, Iceland has kept the top for seven years beacuse it has improved the gender gap very fast. They have improved economic participation and opportunity, and also political empowerment.
No.2 Finland
Finland is also continuing to be in the second place because it has lowered the score of economic opportunity and participation, but still has the top eqaulty in the world.
No.3 Norway
Norway became in the top five position recently, for more woman getting position in politic world. Norway has just elected a female prime minister, Erna Solberg. Also, Norway is one of the top 10 countries in the world for the number which had female head of state.
No.4 Sweden
Economic is the most biggest reason for Sweden to get the fourth position. Sweden has the 20th place for GDP ranking and when you look as a ranking of capital city, Switzerland gets the 2nd place. This high economic made it possible for both parents to work and look after family at the same time, resulting in more women in the workforce, sharing childcare and a better work-life balance for both woman(wife) and man(husband).
No.5 Rwanda
It is surprising to know that Rwanda is in the 5th palce. Rwanda realised the importance of gender eqaulity after the genocide against the Tutsi which happened in 1994. Many man were killed by this genocide and woman had to take part instead. The Rwanda government has set a law to have at least thirty percent of its parliament members to be females. As a result 46 members out of 80 was female in 2003. Rwanda has the top score for eqaulty in politics and education since the genocide happened.

It's unlikely that the sources you cited offered exactly the same information and ranking of countries. So, in your blog you have to point out the differences and tell us which you can trust most and why you trust it. You need to defend your choices of sources as well.
ReplyDeleteDid you ask this question because you believe that when a country has more equality in general, it's more likely that it will have gender equality? That's probably the case, but maybe you need to find some evidence for it. Perhaps the following site will help you to try to get at this question: http://www.oecdbetterlifeindex.org/#/11111111111 . It's the OECD's Better Life Index.
